OVERCOMING DISCOURAGEMENT AND DEPRESSION.
we read the story of Elijah the prophet a man who had performed Miracles so great.A man who suspended rain.A man who killed 850 prophets of Baal and prophets of the groove.A man who commanded fire to fall from heaven but certain strange occurrences happened.After major outstanding victories he fled for his life at the threat of a woman.
John the Baptist a forerunner of Jesus.A man who baptized Jesus,a man who said of Jesus , behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
A man who said he isnt qualified to untie sandal of Jesus feet.
While in prison sent his disciples.Go and ask Jesus is he the messiah we have been waiting for or we keep waiting.
Discouragement and depression had set in.
In 1 king. 19:4-8
And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”
So strange at the threat of a woman elijah fled for his life.

Jezebel wasn’t an ordinary woman.Queen Jezebel was the daughter of Ethbaal, king of Sidon, and the wife of Ahab, king of Israel.
Jezebel promoted the worship of false gods in Israel, harassed and killed God’s prophets,
Her threat brought discouragement to elijah.
In his discouragement he asked God to take his life.he forgot about all past victories God had given him.
Discouragement has led many into depression. Depression can turn into mental ailment and must be dealt with spiritually and in some cases medically
Discouragement led him to make wrong prayers.discouragement led him to flee for his life.discouragement made him blind to the past victories and dominion God had given him over the years.
Are you in that category or a dear one is in such pain , facing discouragement ,depressed over disappointments in marriage,disappointed in career,have you been labouring like an elephant and seeing no results.
have you been questioning God ,have you shut God out of your decisions,have you gone back to the world because your prayer wasn’t answered.Are you discouraged because so Much promises from God and nothing is materializing physically.
Are people asking where is your God and you can’t reply with a testimony.Are your friends,siblings getting married and you are aging with no prospect causing tears, depression and discouragement,has your spouse abandoned you,
Are debts suppressing your peace and sanity.Are the visions, prophesies of children so strong but no single sign of pregnancy to show.
Hear me .Dont isolate yourself,hang around friends,Have reliable people around to talk to
.don’t make any wrong decision.What you are going through is a phase of DESTINY .A little patience is the game changer.dont encourage the devil by your negative thoughts.Dont hinder God by your discouragement.well up faith .
Hear this, the Lord is saying hold on don’t give up your change is coming.he is never early and surely can never be late.He appears at the right time.
Child of God lift up praise ,lift up worship .

Almighty God bless you today,radiate his light upon you.sorrow is not your portion.instead of disappointments and depression recieve strength,refreshment and divine appointment .
